Meet Dr. Alexander Martusiewicz

Alexander Martusiewicz, M.D. is a fellowship-trained ABOS Board Certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in shoulder and elbow surgery. Raised in Troy, Michigan, he went on to attend the University of Michigan for his undergraduate degree where he played Michigan Lacrosse. He earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan and performed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University. He completed his fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at Washington University in St. Louis. 

Dr. Martusiewicz treats shoulder and elbow arthritis, rotator cuff disease, degenerative conditions, fractures, and sports related injuries of the upper extremity. He has extensive experience in primary and revision shoulder and elbow replacement surgery as well as arthroscopic procedures. His clinical interests also include the treatment of complex rotator cuff tears and shoulder instability/dislocations.

Dr. Martusiewicz is involved in resident education and training for the Beaumont Orthopedic Residency. He strives to provide comprehensive care to his patients and educate them on their treatment options. He uses nonoperative, minimally invasive, arthroscopic, and open techniques to improve his patients’ function and return them to the activities that they love.

Dr. Martusiewicz’s qualifications include:

  • Undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan
  • Medical degree from the University of Michigan
  • Orthopedic surgery residency at Northwestern University
  • Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis
  • clinical faculty for the Beaumont Orthopedic Residency Program
